Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak whispers the o’er-fraught heart and bids it break. ~ William Shakespeare
There is something you must always remember. you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. ~ Winnie the Pooh
Earlier this summer I went along to Zurich to photograph Karin Hagelin who runs a programme helping those who need to come to terms with grief. You can find out more about her work here.
We wanted to photograph Karin in a natural environment and so walked around where she lived and used different backgrounds whilst we talked more about the programme and her own personal story.
Something I hadn’t really thought about before is that grief comes in many forms – including, for example, moving country, divorce and empty nest syndrome. The programme goes through different aspects and is personalised towards the individual and helps them come to terms with their own personal grief.
Karin is running a free information evening for a limited group of participants tomorrow in Zurich. Karin is very personable, discreet and professional and having been through the programme myself, I can highly recommend it.
